Kitchen Chair Pads: Comfort and Beauty

Using kitchen chair pads is a great way to make seating more comfortable. However, kitchen chair pads can also be used to enhance or change the appearance of a room. Whether using pads for your kitchen or dining room, you will be amazed at the possibilities. You can choose from various styles, fabrics, thickness, and so on. In addition to buying new kitchen chair pads, you can also make your own.

Kitchen chair pads can be casual or formal. If you want to create a more formal appearance for a beautiful dining room, then you could choose linen in white or navy. However, if you want kitchen chair pads for a country kitchen, you might choose something with a cotton floral design and skirting. Because there are literally thousands of choices, you can enjoy switching out the styles as well.

Perhaps you have a themed kitchen or dining room, wanting kitchen chair pads to match. In this case, you will find fabric for chili peppers, roosters, teapots, gingham, ivy, and so on. Now, while you can find kitchen chair pads sold at most department and retail stores, as mentioned another option is to make your own. In addition to being able to match the look you want better, you can be sure you will also save money.

To make your own kitchen chair pads, all you need is a few supplies and a little time. The first two things you need to decide is the thickness you want the pads and the material. If you visit hobby stores or fabric stores, you will find kitchen chair pads already formed. These come in different materials as well, giving you a different feel when being seated. You would need to know the size of the chair seat and then choose the pad accordingly. If you find a pad that you like but it is a little too large, remember you can always trim the size back.

For the most comfort, we suggest you choose kitchen chair pads that are at least three inches thick. In addition to looking nice, these kitchen chair pads also make the chair far more comfortable. Of course, you could go even thicker if you like. After choosing the actual pad, you then need to determine the material or fabric you want. We recommend you choose something that will not overpower the room, but complement the overall style. For instance, if you have a Tuscany themed dining room of gold, green, and maroon, a green upholstery fabric with miniature maroon diamonds would be gorgeous.

In other words, if you have a kitchen or dining room with a theme, tone the kitchen chair pads down slightly. As an example, if you have a kitchen with a rooster theme, choosing rooster fabric would probably be too much. Instead, focus on one primary color within the room, choosing fabric with this color and then a secondary color. Once you choose the material, you want to purchase a piece that is about two to three inches larger than the chair all the way around. After removing the old pads, you would place the new kitchen chair pads onto the seat, followed by the material, which is then pulled taut and stapled onto the back of the seat to secure it.
